- Bottom Line on Kajabi
The bottom line of this Kajabi review: Kajabi is the most complete all-in-one platform for selling courses, coaching and memberships, but at $143 a month to start, it only makes financial sense once your business is already earning. It replaces your website, email tool, checkout, community and course platform with one login and takes no cut of your sales. For a creator who hasn’t made a first sale yet, that’s a lot to pay upfront.
Kajabi raised its prices in January 2026 and dropped its cheapest public plan, so older reviews quoting $119 or $89 a month are out of date. This review covers what each plan includes now, the limits that push you to upgrade, how much of your revenue Kajabi really takes at different stages, and what users praise and complain about. It’s based on Kajabi’s pricing page, published plan details and user reviews, checked in November 2026. On our course creation rubric, Kajabi scores 7.6 out of 10, with the category scores listed at the top of the page.
- Price: $143, $199 or $399 a month billed yearly, or $179, $249 and $499 billed monthly.
- Revenue share: none. You pay card processing through Kajabi Payments.
- Trial: 14 days free, then a 30-day money-back guarantee.
- Best for: coaches and creators already earning, who want one tool instead of five.
- Skip it if: you’re testing your first course idea on a small budget.
What Kajabi Does
Kajabi is an all-in-one business platform for people who sell their expertise. In one subscription you get course and membership hosting, coaching products, a website builder with your own domain, email marketing, landing pages and funnels, checkout and payments, and a private community. Kajabi says experts on the platform have earned more than $12 billion since 2010.
That breadth is the whole pitch. On course platforms like Teachable or Thinkific, most creators also pay for a separate email tool, a website and sometimes a community app. Kajabi rolls them together and adds a customer app for iPhone and Android, so your students can learn and join your community on their phones from day one.
In 2026, Kajabi has also leaned into AI. Its pricing page highlights Kajabi Cofounder, an AI assistant that suggests and builds next steps in your business, automatic video transcripts and translations, and a connection that lets you work on your Kajabi account from AI tools like Claude.
Kajabi Pricing and Plan Limits in 2026
| Plan | Billed yearly | Billed monthly | Products | Contacts | Admin users |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $143/mo ($1,716/yr) | $179/mo | 5 | 2,500 | 2 |
| Growth | $199/mo ($2,388/yr) | $249/mo | 50 | 25,000 | 11 |
| Pro | $399/mo ($4,788/yr) | $499/mo | Unlimited | 100,000 | 26 |
Yearly prices and contact limits come from Kajabi’s pricing page. Product and admin limits come from third-party plan breakdowns, which also report the January 2026 increase: Basic went from $119 to $143 a month billed yearly, Growth from $159 to $199 and Pro from $319 to $399.
Each plan step also unlocks features. Growth adds live cohort courses, advanced automations, your own affiliate program and removal of Kajabi branding. Pro adds your own branded app in the App Store, unlimited products and dedicated support. Every plan includes unlimited email sends, and extra contacts cost $125 a month per block of 25,000.
Kajabi Payments and Fees
Kajabi doesn’t take a percentage of your sales on any plan. What you do pay is card processing. Through Kajabi Payments in the US, that’s 2.9% plus 30 cents on Basic, 2.8% plus 30 cents on Growth and 2.7% plus 30 cents on Pro, according to Kajabi’s pricing page.
If you’d rather use your own Stripe account where Kajabi Payments is available, Kajabi adds a surcharge on top of Stripe’s normal fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Growth and 0.5% on Pro. For most US creators, that makes Kajabi Payments the cheaper choice, especially on Basic.
How Much of Your Revenue Kajabi Takes
A flat $143 a month feels very different at $500 in monthly sales than at $15,000. Here’s the plan price as a share of revenue at different stages, before card processing, which you’d pay on any platform:
| Monthly sales | Plan that fits | Plan cost (billed yearly) | Share of revenue |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | Basic | $143 | 28.6% |
| $1,500 | Basic | $143 | 9.5% |
| $5,000 | Growth | $199 | 4.0% |
| $15,000 | Growth | $199 | 1.3% |
| $25,000 | Pro | $399 | 1.6% |
The pattern is clear. Below about $1,500 a month, Kajabi eats a painful share of what you earn. Once you’re past roughly $5,000 a month, it costs less than many platforms that take a percentage, and you’re also not paying separately for email, a website and a community app.
Kajabi’s own advice fits this table. Its pricing page describes Basic as “best for experts making their first $10k a year” and Growth as the plan for “getting to $50k a year and beyond.” If you’re well below that first number, a cheaper course platform is the smarter place to start.
What Kajabi Does Well
- One system for everything. Reviewers consistently say the biggest benefit is not juggling separate tools and logins for courses, email, website and checkout.
- Polished student experience. Course pages, checkout and the customer app look professional without design work.
- Strong marketing tools. Funnels, landing pages, unlimited emails and, on Growth, an affiliate program and advanced automations.
- No revenue share. As sales grow, you keep more than on platforms that take a cut.
- Room to grow. Generous contact and admin limits on Growth and Pro, plus add-on contact blocks.
Where Kajabi Falls Short
- Price. The most common complaint by far. Capterra reviewers call it expensive for small businesses and hard to justify for beginners.
- Five products on Basic. Courses, coaching offers and memberships all count, so creators with several small offers outgrow Basic quickly.
- Email is basic. It covers most needs, but power users find it thin next to dedicated email platforms.
- Learning curve. With so many tools in one place, some users find the back end confusing at first.
- Limited design flexibility. Templates are polished, but heavy customization and some outside integrations are harder than on dedicated website builders.
What Users Say About Kajabi
Capterra users give Kajabi a 4.4 out of 5 across 230 reviews, with 4.1 for both ease of use and customer service. Users who are happy with it tend to be coaches and creators with an existing audience who launched quickly and value having everything under one roof.
Unhappy reviewers fall into two groups. The first are beginners and small businesses who found the monthly bill hard to justify before sales came in. The second hit specific limits, such as selling physical products, deep email automation or connecting outside apps. Several also mention that support is friendly but can take days to fix technical problems.
Which Kajabi Plan Should You Start On?
Most new Kajabi users should start on Basic, but only if the five-product limit fits. Count your offers before you choose: each course, coaching package and membership is a product. A creator with one flagship course, one coaching offer and a community fits easily. A creator with eight mini-courses doesn’t.
Move to Growth when one of three things happens. Your email list passes 2,500 contacts, you need more than five products, or you want an affiliate program and advanced automations to grow sales. The jump from Basic to Growth is only $56 a month on yearly billing, and it raises your contact limit tenfold, so for anyone with a growing list it’s usually the better value.
Pro is for established businesses. The branded app, unlimited products and 100,000 contacts only matter once you’re running a sizable operation or more than one brand.
Switching to Kajabi From Another Platform
Many creators arrive at Kajabi after outgrowing a cheaper course platform plus a separate email tool. If that’s you, plan the move in stages. Rebuild your courses first, using the 14-day trial to test the course player and checkout. Then import your email contacts and set up your main email sequences. Move your website and domain last, once everything else works.
Before you switch, add up what you pay today for your course platform, email service, website and community app. If that total is close to Kajabi’s price, the move is mostly about convenience and time saved. If it’s far lower, Kajabi will raise your costs, and you should be sure the time you save is worth it.
Kajabi vs Teachable vs Thinkific
| Platform | Entry price (billed yearly) | Platform fee on sales | Email marketing built in | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Kajabi | $143/mo | None | Yes, unlimited sends | Running a whole expert business in one tool |
| Teachable | $29/mo | 7.5% on the $29 plan only | Limited | First courses on a small budget |
| Thinkific | $82/mo | None | Limited | Course businesses with many products |
Teachable and Thinkific are cheaper course platforms, and both are good. The trade-off is that you’ll likely add an email service and possibly a website builder or community tool on top. Kajabi costs more upfront because it includes all of that.
Who Should Use Kajabi?
You already earn $1,000 or more a month from courses or coaching

Kajabi Pro includes one, which is unusual at this price.

Pair a specialist tool with a course platform instead.

Kajabi is an excellent choice for coaches and creators who are already selling and want one polished system for courses, email, website, community and checkout.
